This new 18 year old expression is the result of a unique combination of both bourbon and sherry oak casks. The result is a soft and rich Macallan with hints of citrus, tropical fruits, spice and wood smoke, delivering a lingering finish with hints of orange zest.

- Color
- Medium Amber
- Nose
- Oak and fruit, floral notes in between
- Body
- Medium-heavy body, nicely coats the tongue and cheek.
- Palate
- A woodsy sherry taste with some nuttiness and honey notes, even a touch of maple. The flavors are complex andf not overpowewring at all, Invites you to savor it.
- Finish
- Medium finish, which is my only (slight) criticism, although so close to perfect thaat they'd better leave it alone. Incrredibly smotth!
My favorite of a all the highlands and for special guests. The fine oak finish now incorporates aging in three barrels: sherry-trreated European and American Oaks treated with sherry, an American Oak treated with bourbon. The "treated with" feels wierd, but the result is terrific!

Very good dram. In my opinion not as good as the regular 12 year old, very good dram for the value.
