The Glenlivet 15 yo French Oak Reserve is beautifully structured with an interplay of fruits and spices. The aroma is intense and sweet with hints of citrus fruit. A full palate contrasts notes of ripe mango with cinnamon and white pepper. This leads into a long and creamy finish balanced by a teasing, spicy dryness conferred by selective maturation in new French Oak casks.

- Nose
- Too much alcohol to appreciate the nose full strength
- Body
- Thick and grows thicker.
- Palate
- Wood smoke. Tangy. High flavour notes.
- Finish
- Long. Start out slow. Nice and warm in the back of my throat, and the warmness slowly spreads downwards and fades out. Light.
Not offensive. Fun to drink, but not very complex.

- Color
- Pure Gold
- Nose
- Lots of alcohol. Some citrus. Over ripe mango.
- Body
- Very light and creamy. Wet.
- Palate
- There's something very striking in the nose when you taste it. Fruity and playful. Vanilla pudding.
- Finish
- Easy. A slow fade of delicate flavors. Ends cleanly.
This is my first taste of this bottle. I didn't expect I'd like this one as much as i do. It's a very delicate and structured malt with nothing that would offend an inexperienced whisky drinker. Its yumminess makes it a good desert whisky.

- Color
- Dark Straw
- Nose
- Light aromas of toasted cereal, a little fruit syrup and raisins, hint of oak with a floral background
- Body
- medium body, slightly buttery
- Palate
- Starts with a lightly sweet toasted cereal, quickly gets drier as the Limousin oak kicks in with a spicey aromatic crispness.
- Finish
- medium finish with a hint of vanilla and the dry spiciness of the Limousin oak.
The difference in the flavor profile from the limousin oak compared to the usual bourbon oak is very distinct.

- The finish is what killed it- thin and quick with an antiseptic feel
A decent whisky but not worth the money

- Color
- Honey, Gold
- Nose
- Light aroma, orange peel. Even with my hand cupped over the glass, it does not show a strong nose.
- Body
- Warm and smooth. Burns only the very tip of my tongue. Very refined with no harshness to speak of. This is head and shoulders above the bar variety Glenlivet 12.
- Palate
- Nuts, butter, not sweet at all. No hint of fruits or Sherry. Mild smokiness, but I drank it neat. It may need a piece of ice or a splash of cold water.
- Finish
- Not a very long finish. Very easy to drink. Very simple profile, nothing mysterious here.
I am surprised how tasty this 15 year offering is. I went to the store on a quest for $50.00 single malts to buy for my groomsmen. I was skeptical that it could be done. The salesman called the distributor and then cracked the bottle for me. I was elated that $52.00 actually bought a very smooth and drinkable Scotch. I am happy with the purchase, as are my friends. In fact, I am down to 1/4th of a bottle already. Good for gift giving and everyday comsumption. It is not "the best" Scotch, but it is better than most people will ever drink. Take it from a Scotsman.

- Honey
- Nose
- Honey, vanilla, cherries and mango
- Body
- Smooth, easy drinking whisky
- Palate
- More honey and fruit consistent with the nose
- Finish
- Short but pleasent, lingers on the tongue for a short time then dissappears
Great whisky, was surprised by how smooth it was for the price. an improvement on the 12 yr old which is saying something as that is one of my favorite younger whiskies. As good as it is however it does lack complexity and the finish isn't overly long.

- caramel - it has caramel in it :)
- Nose
- very fruity, mince pie smells, oak sweetness, mild lemon undertones
- Body
- smooth, medium bodied, some have even said watery. it's not watery, but definitely not an oily dram.
- Palate
- ripe fruit, a lot of oak, subtle but noticeable bitter undertones, oak fruit clashes with the whisky underneath
- Finish
- quick primary finish but then another background finish persists, a subtle bitter flavour with dry oak. sudden initial finish makes the whisky taste less complex.
Not a bad whisky, but certainly not a great one either. The finish is quick although there are slightly bitter undertones and oak flavours which linger. The french oak adds a slightly odd mince-pie dimension to the fruit and clashes somewhat. It is a little too much like a dessert whisky for my taste.

- Color
- light golden,pale
- Nose
- Very subtle, light touch of citrus and vanilla
- Body
- Not really full bodied, but very smooth. A slight nip on the tongue.
- Palate
- Mild oak and smoke, some floral notes and caramel.
- Finish
- A very quick finish, very smooth to the end, with a wisp of wood smoke.
Having tried, and enjoyed the 12 year old, I was anxious to try this one. I was not disappointed. I found this to be very smooth and enjoyable. I could best describe this to be soft and subtle. I would buy this again and not be afraid to serve this to friends.

not your usual single malt scotch, lacks peat, aging in wine barrels adds new dimension, overall a very good scotch

- Amber-
- Nose
- The nose is subtle... main notes are floral and caramel, but there are also hints of honey, cherry, citrus fruit, and oddly after it breathes a while I smell a tiny little wisp of play-doh in it. Overall, pleasing nose.
- Body
- Light – Medium
- Palate
- Smooth and easy... strong oaky and floral flavor with caramel.
- Finish
- Short and slightly warming. The caramel/oak perseveres for about a minute.
While I don't consider this one of my "must have at all times" Whiskys... it is a very pleasing dram. It is complex, drinkable and overall delightful... just not among the top tier. I would definitely recommend to friends though, as this is well worth the price.
