Talisker 25 Year Old
Review by ColoradoDram
- Color
- A slightly orangey Talisker 10.
- Nose
- Elder oak wood sweetened with rock sugar, cooked vanilla pudding (versus the instant kind), nothing menacing.
- Body
- Surprisingly thin, if silky, over the tongue.
- Palate
- Tree sap to the max (this is my first scotch over 21 years), indistinguishable sweet fruit, some floral.
- Finish
- Long, long, long. Smooth and very warm. One sip can last 15 minutes...so be sure to plan an hour for a pour. Best to have a fire lit nearby to complement this finish.
A bottle of this should last 3 years, pouring only on special ocassions with the significant other. It's not as peppery and wild as the 10 year, but more inviting and complex than the 18 year. If you are going to cross the 21 year rubicon, this is a safe dollar (pound) value.
