The first regular bottling of an older Talisker™. Time has rounded not tamed its power.

- Smoke and fruit
- Body
- Medium full-bodied
- Palate
- Complex, taste of plums and fruit, pepper and smoke

- Long finish, warm, peppery, fruity, and smoky
This is truly great scotch. A complex, plummy taste, with smokiness that does not overwhelm the other flavors -- all this makes this scotch a real delight when you can find it.

- Color
- Deep gold
- Nose
- Vanilla, toffee, sweet flowers
- Body
- Full, ever so slightly oily
- Palate
- Initially warm fruit, then vanilla and toffee, pepper, subtly peaty; like burning wood
- Finish
- Long and pleasant, the finish releases some spice; autumn fruit and cinnamon
Very lovely, balanced whisky, which for me contains all the elements that make a good Single Malt: smokiness, fruit, vanilla and an overall warm sensation. It reminds me of a campfire by the seaside on a warm night in summer.

Review by ColoradoDram
- Color
- Medium gold amber.
- Nose
- Fruity vanilla, sweetly floral.
- Body
- Thick, oily, buttery, almost insulating on the tounge.
- Palate
- Sweet fruit and flowers, peppery (but less than the 10 year), faintly metallic. The vanilla from the nosing is lost on the palate. The smoke is distant.
- Finish
- Very tingly, medium hot, very long. Definite mellowing of time.
Talisker served with velvet gloves. Though this is excellent and provides a longer, more complex finish, I think I prefer the 10 year on all other counts.

- Color
- Amber, tinge of rose
- Nose
- Smoke, soy sauce, cinnamon, orange peel
- Body
- Oily and viscous. Expands to fill the mouth.
- Palate
- Big hit of smoky bacon, sour on the tongue, orange marmalade, creme brulee
- Finish
- Medium finish. Tobacco with peanuts. Burnt sugar.
Like having a smoky bacon and Seville orange marmalade sandwich. Delicious
