- Color
- Cheap laminate flooring, a not-quite-right yellow brown.
- Nose
- Mixed peels, nutmeg, woodsmoke, something sweet that's not quite vanilla. Fairly complicated.
- Body
- Warm, round, quite full. What the nose leads you to expect.
- Palate
- Dry, quite sharp fruit. Seaweed. Dry rotted wood. A little dusty, but in a good way.
- Finish
- Slightly alcoholic, nasal. Tapers quickly.

This one is very good, my first tasting was just after a taste of blue label - so it actually tasted quite good. However, the second tasting was on a clean palate, and I have to say the smoky taste reminds me of Laphroaig - however the iodine is not as strong. This is a really good single malt - it's very well balanced, and has a nice sweet touch to it. Great value too! I'm tempted to give it a score in the 90's, but I think 89 will do.
