    Color
Reddish amber. Reminds me of the beauty of the Lagavulin 16.
    Nose
    Sweet with clear sherry notes.
    Body
    Thick and coating.
    Palate
The first thing I noticed was the wonderful creaminess, with just tiny hints of fruit. There are also strong touches of vanilla. And of course, there's undeniable (and difficult to characterize) sherry-ness to it all.
    Finish
It's definitely got some bite. Reminds me of the aftertaste of a good steak with red wine.

This one needs some water (it's 60% alcohol otherwise), but with the right amount is pure delight. I'm a huge Islay fan, so this is out of my usual comfort zone, but well worth it. This now sits next to the Ardbeg Uigeadail as my favorite Scotch (I can't say which I like better because it's such an apples-to-oranges comparison). I didn't try this for quite some time because I was afraid to invest in a bottle that I might not like, but now this will be a constant in my Scotch cabinet.

    Color
    Golden yellow.
    Nose
    Sweet and fruity.
    Body
I was surprised by its thickness.
    Palate
Honeyed sweetness, with orange hints, and just a touch of citrus.
    Finish
Crisp and clean. This is one of the most refreshing malts that I've had.

Smooth and incredibly pleasant to drink. Not as complex or challenging as I usually like (I'm an Islay fan), but it's a delight nonetheless.

    Color
Gold with touches of red. Really striking.
    Nose
Sweat and a hint fruity. Really announces itself.
    Body
    Coating and smooth.
    Palate
I definitely agree with everyone who has mentioned dark chocolate, that is the overwhelming flavor I get every time. Also hints of orange and a mild smokiness.
    Finish
This is where the smoke becomes most noticeable, though it's still not the full on attack of a Laphroaig or Ardbeg. Finishes very quickly and very cleanly.

Not at all what I was expecting, but delightful nonetheless. Despite its peatiness it still has a subtle refinement. This is definitely a desert Scotch for me, and one that I'm still figuring out. I don't know if this would become my go-to Scotch, but I'll certainly be sad when I finish the bottle.

    Color
    Brownish gold.
    Nose
    Sweet and fruity.
    Body
    Slightly thick.
    Palate
Started sweet, with hints of fruit. Definitely had a nutty flavor. Slight hints of salt and a clear woodiness emerged towards the end.
    Finish
    Very brief and clean.

I had been looking for a chance to taste some Japanese whisky, and finally had the chance with the Yamazaki. It definitely makes me want try some more, though this one didn't rank among my favorites.

    Color
    Bronze.
    Nose
    Slightly earthy and floral.
    Body
    Slightly gritty.
    Palate
A bit bitter and almost tangy.
    Finish
Has a nice finish. Hints of fruit and flowers - refreshing and summery.

I was drinking the Saint Andrews. It had a bitterness that I found unpleasant, and tasted very young.

    Color
    Nice brownish gold.
    Nose
    Very sweet.
    Body
Medium body with a nice smoothness.
    Palate
Sugary sweetness, like icing or white chocolate, followed by some peppery flavors.
    Finish
Smooth, but with a bit of pepper. Very clean.

This whisky is a little lacking in complexity, but the flavors it does have are very nice. I found this easy and pleasant to drink.

    Color
    Amber.
    Nose
Earthy and peaty, with a hint of seaside air during a storm.
    Body
    Rich and buttery.
    Palate
Honeyed sweetness that fades into a briney peatyness. Complex, with hints of fruit and undeniable smoke.
    Finish
Salty and delicious, with no unpleasant aftertaste.

Complex and wonderful. I get different tastes each time I try it, but it still always has a distinctive character that is uniquely its own. Definitely in the running for the title of my favorite Scotch.

    Color
    Pale gold.
    Nose
Slightly floral with a hint of grass and citrus fruitiness.
    Body
    Thin and light.
    Palate
Interesting blend of salty with a hint of honey sweetness. Puts me somehow in mind of Chinese foods that have a thicker sauce. Also traces of fruit, especially orange and grapefruit.
    Finish
Surprisingly smooth for such a high proof, but still has a bit of a bite to it. There's an almost gentle peppery taste as well as a buttery sweetness.

A beautiful array of flavors. This one might be harder to identify in a blind taste test than some of my other favorites, but it is definitely a joy to drink.

    Color
    Dark amber.
    Nose
    Warm and smoky.
    Body
    Full yet smooth body.
    Palate
Smoky with lots of peat. Taste of barbecue, with gentle hints of sweetness mixed with peppery hotness.
    Finish
    Warm and smoky.

A bold and distinctive malt. I served this at a tasting and the aroma of so many pours filled the room and was a big hit. Full of flavor, and a great example of the virtue of peatiness.

    Color
    Lush amber.
    Nose
Hints of honey with a bit of smokiness. Fruitiness also comes through. The nose is the best part of this malt.
    Body
    Medium
    Palate
Begins with a wonderful creamy sweetness that is to die for. Then mellows into a citrusy, grassy flavor with a touch of bitterness. Some fruitiness, and a definite punch of peaty smokiness.
    Finish
Long and slightly bitter - my least favorite part of this malt.

I was disappointed in this Scotch at first, but I'm starting to come around. It starts off wonderfully strong, with perhaps the finest nose of any whisky I've had, and a nice palate at first. It doesn't finish as strong though, thus keeping off the list of my favorites.

    Pale gold.
    Nose
    Slightly sweet and floral.
    Body
    Slightly oily, but still light.
    Palate
Buttery - almost tastes like buttered toast. Touches of caramel. Hints of grass.
    Finish
Peppery and hot. Doesn't last long.

Smooth and drinkable, but lacking in complexity. Not as much flavor as a lot of Scotches, but definitely a great value for the price. This is a great place for novices to start, as it is very easy to drink.
