Peat, soft smoke, disinfectant, new bottle of motor oil

    Palate
Huge peat, soft smoke, shellfish, motor oil, scope mouth wash (the green one), light salt, hints of floral
    Finish
The peat stays with you from the arrival to the finish and then some. There's some smoke but softer then I thought it would be. The peat leaves my lips, mouth, and throat numb and tingling. The finish is long and lingering.

This was my first experience drinking a Laphroaig whisky. The first day I opened and tasted the whisky, I was a little displeased. The motor oil smell and taste was overwhelming and unpleasent. But on the third day, the whisky seemed to have mellowed a bit and became quite enjoyable. The Alcohol is almost undetectable. It would be nice if the abv was a bit higher. Guess the CS or quater cask is next in line.

    Body
Thick and extremely viscous in the glass. Feels like liquid velvet in your mouth
    Palate
Caramelized sugar and sherry sweetness but far from being cloy, Floral, Peat, Smoke, Wood, Smoked salmon and oysters, and Dark Chocolate. The high ABV is hidden within the flavor complexity of the whisky, nicely done.
    Finish
Long lasting floral and sherry sweetness with a touch of peaty smoke. Beautiful finish. Warning, be careful with this one, it causes severe lip smacking in between sips.

After wrestling with this review, a super hero commercial gave me the answer. Right now in my little world of whisky, the Ardbeg 10 is my Superman. Therefor, the Uigeadail is my bizarro superman. It is the opposite of everything I love in the Ardbeg 10. Where the 10 has intense peat and smoke, the Uigeadail is mild. And where the 10 is light in sweetnees and floral, the Uigeadail is intense. although opposites, they are both equally amazing and delicious.

Ahh this is where it becomes magical. You take a sip from the dram and the waves of flavors come rolling through one after the other. The Smoke and peat shows up first to remind you that they're in charge, charred shellfish, bits of medicinal hints, mild fruity notes, then a salty yet savory mist coats your lips and mouth inviting another sip. A few sips along with lenghty swirling will cause your tongue to go numb (fantastic).
    Finish
Long and warm with lingering smoke and salty peppers. Onolicious

I love this wisky. No one favor totally dominates, infact the flavors compliment each other. Talisker is a whisky diamond, each flavor facet has its own sparkle, but as a whole, it shines with brilliance.

    Nose
Lightly fruity and floral, the smoke and peat lurks around but is kept under control, slightly medicinal not like smelling a band-aide itself, but like a handful of band-aide wrappers, sea air (but from a distance).
    Body
    Medium-full, light oil
    Palate
Similar to the nose, it starts out fruity and floral, dark chocolate, smoked/dried squid, then the peat and smoke emerges to join the festivities, tiny essence of medicine, more smoke and peat, hints of salt.
    Finish
    Long , warm, and wonderful.

Wow, what a wonder whisky. The nose pretty much shows up in the palate except for the first half of my first dram where dark chocolate was evident, but was replaced by smoked/dried squid for the subsequent tasting (amazing). This whisky is intricate, flavorful, and alluring. Did I mention scrumptious? I’m definitely a fan.

    Finish
sweet perfume, again the mystery taste, salt.

My malt mate "sideburns" gave me a flask full of this whisky to sample (thanks buddy). With his live reviews as he drank it for the first time and then reading how wonderful this whisky is, my curiosty was definitely peaked. In fear of feeling like the odd man out, I venture to say that this whisky, although easy to drink, did very little to excite my palate. Sort of like all dressed up and nowhere to go. For blended whisky I'll stick with JW black label.

Touch of smoke, sea air, Vanilla, chocolate, and a hint of peppers. Wonderful and flavorful.
    Finish
The semi-sweet chocolate berries lingers around playing on the sea shore as the spice of the peppers show up but quickly leaves the party.

This a terrific dram. It's well rounded with flavors and a perfect balance between the sweet and savory. It's readily available and decently priced here in Hawaii. Definately an everyday whisky.
