    Color
    Copper, caramel.
    Nose
    Subdued wood and vanilla. Alcohol.
    Body
    Light, thin. Smooth.
    Palate
    Raisins, sugar.
    Finish
    Short.

If this review seems terse, it's because this whisky didn't give me much to say. It's certainly better than Crown Royal, but not the Canadian revelation I was expecting. It's smooth, to be sure, but there's hardly any complexity built into it.

    Color
    Amber, a bit of caramel.
    Nose
Peat smoke. A bit of bourbon-esque vanilla. A few drops of water release a surprising amount of sweetness. A bit more alcohol than I would like.
    Body
Full-bodied. Heavy, oily - quite enjoyable. A good reference dram for full-bodied whisky.
    Palate
Again, surprisingly sweet with a few drops of water. Peat smoke, obviously. Tingly.
    Finish
Medium length but quite flavorful. Smoky and fruity. I think once you build up your tastebuds you will find this quite smooth!

A classic Islay malt, one that should be savored over and over again. Smoke is the dominant taste here but there is still complexity. You lose some salt and earthiness with water but gain fruit and sweetness.

    Color
    Pure gold
    Nose
Blissfully free of the acetone stench that I've come to associate with cheap Irish whiskey. Almost a Bourbon/Irish hybrid - charred oak, vanilla. Brown sugar, grass, just a bit of smoke.
    Body
Medium to thick. Smooth, velvety, oily.
    Palate
Pleasantly warm. Sweet malt, more oak. Earthy.
    Finish
Long but not eternal. Subtle, floral. A touch of peppermint. Kind of hard to pin down.

I'd like a little more complexity but this is a fine Irish whiskey. Perfect for Bourbon drinkers or those who favor sweeter scotches. Incredibly smooth and drinkable.

    Color
    Golden, brass.
    Nose
Orange. Raisins, candied almonds. Freshly-baked sourdough bread by the seaside.
    Body
    Medium-bodied. Slightly oily.
    Palate
Sea salt, the orange is confirmed on the palate. Warm, but no burn.
    Finish
Long - almost like chewing on an orange seed. Floral notes linger, and orange becomes even more apparent. Hints of malt and cider.

Delightful, surprising nose with some unexpected notes. Multifaceted finish. A good dram to give to novices, happy to add to the whiskey cabinet.
