- Color
- Golden Amber
- Nose
- Bonfires, drying peat, oily burning wood
- Body
- Crisp, wet. Not as thick as the 10yr.
- Palate
- Subtly sweet like milk from a bowl of sugared-cereal. A hefty gulp of smoke follows.
- Finish
- Long, slightly ashy. Traces of barley after the sweetness has gone away.
Less sweet, less medicinal. More smoke, more wood than the 10yr. More elemental too, but not as raw. The flavors are more distinct and less muddled. Less alcohol burn despite being bottled at higher ABV.
