The McClelland's Single Malt family is a range of Single Malt Scotch whiskies from four of Scotland's key whisky distilling regions - Highland, Islay, Speyside and the Lowlands. McClelland's is a budget Scotch, priced at a fraction of most single malts, and cheaper than most blends or call brands of other liquors. There is no McClelland's distillery, rather it is a 5 year old bottling of one of several other Morrison Bowmore distillery's spirit.

I first tried this when int first appeared in my ABC store. Everyone loved it and it was gone over the 4th of July holiday. I bought a second bottle and it is very different from the first. Much more rough. If it was more consistent I would probably buy more of it.

- Color
- Amber
- Nose
- Dry nose, with hints of grassy field, ripe fruits. Smooth, subtle and altering with each sniff. Dry and lively. Great nose.
- Body
- Dry and light.
- Palate
- Hmm, is that brandy? Some pear, some grass. A bit disappointing after a nose like that.
- Finish
- Short and dry.
A lot is in the subtlety, since it doesn't really strike you. A nice smooth dram overall, with good Lowland characteristics.

- Color
- amber
- Nose
- ether yields to syrup
- Body
- a bit rough on the back of the tongue, it will go down kicking and screaming if you try to rush it
- Palate
- a bit of fruit (bananas and apples?), otherwise harsher than the nose suggests
- Finish
- not so rough if you slow down with it, but strangely it almost finishes like a bourbon, but there's no confusing the issue - you just drank whisky! and it lets you know it!
Disappointing at first but after giving it a few more tries it is growing on me, and it is a good deal to get a lowland malt in my cabinet to round out the collection. If you want to taste a lowland malt, the choices are few, and this is certainly worth buying and trying (under $30 in Maryland).

Just awful. I mean its a joke. I would rather have a Canadian blend over this crap. I cant even call it scotch. stay away. Its very cheap but over priced.

- Color
- Lightly Golden
- Nose
- Light and fruity, pear and apple with a short hint of white grape.
- Body
- Has a bite but zero complexity.
- Palate
- Very little peat, sweet yet shallow. Fruity in a bad way.
- Finish
- Short lived. No nibble after the bite. warm at times.
Ok for the price. A single malt without the usual single malt qualities.
