The McClelland's Single Malt family is a range of Single Malt Scotch whiskies from four of Scotland's key whisky distilling regions - Highland, Islay, Speyside and the Lowlands. McClelland's is a budget Scotch, priced at a fraction of most single malts, and cheaper than most blends or call brands of other liquors. There is no McClelland's distillery, rather it is a 5 year old bottling of one of several other Morrison Bowmore distillery's spirit.

    Finish
Finish is much nicer than I imagined it would be for the price. Remarkable smooth and robust for the price.

    Decent taste for the cost.

    Color
    Dark Lager
    Nose
Caramel and floral notes with a notable absence (or at least a significantly diminished) of the alcohol sting. A slight medicinal aroma presents with extended nosing.
    Body
    Medium
    Palate
Semi-sweet floral, hints of caramel and just a faint wisp of smoke. This one is fairly pleasant.
    Finish
Medium length and warming... unfortunately, not much flavor in the finish.

This is a fairly good scotch, not spectacular but along the lower edge of "worth trying" hence the rating. I enjoyed my dram...

Not a bad budget single malt... but you can do much better.

    Light Amber
    Nose
It smells hot. It smells of alcohol.
    Body
Light with no real body. Airy, ghostly, elusive.
    Palate
    Alcohol. Molasses. Carrion.
    Finish
It seems to have a bitter, skunky finish unbecoming a scotch.

This is the first scotch I've ever had to mix with soda. It's atrocious.

    Color
    light honey, amber
    Nose
light wood, musk, fruity, wet sand
    Body
    light, thin
    Palate
    raw, floral, slight citrus, sweet
    Finish
    tickly, petrol, peppery

worth trying to see if you like, but nothing special that I would buy again. There are many blends that I would rate higher. There is an omnipresent raw floral taste to this that I cannot escape and limits its appeal. It is not particularly complex or enjoyable but not terrible either. Your mileage may vary.

    Nose
Sweet, mellow notes of banana, sustained by a subtle potpourri of other ripe fruits.
    Body
    Thick and smooth.
    Palate
Some oak, still sweet. Slighty sharp, with fruityness and such. Apples and nuts.
    Finish
Average length, slightly bitter taste. Fortunately, fruits to the rescue.

Good balance, quite enjoyable. And, not to forget, a real bargain.

    Nose
Sandal and cedar wood fuse with the sweetness of buttercream and fresh vanilla.
    Body
    soft, suttle, velvety smooth
    Palate
combination of the sweetness of malt and the aridity of salt Traces of gooseberry and a hint of lime
    Finish
A pleasantly smooth, lengthily, mouth filling aftertaste.

A very good single malt scotch whiskey for the price. Well balanced.

    Color
    Ligt to medium golden amber
    Nose
Very light smoke, heather and faint fruit; we disagreed on what fruit. Peaches? Nectarines?
    Body
Medium to light in body, a bit warm but not hot in feel. (We used a few drops of filtered water with it)
    Palate
A wonderful, light whiskey with enough complexity to interest one. Roasted malt and light new wood flavor. Residual hard candy sweetness that went well with the fruity notes and faint smoke / tar.
    Finish
Moderate lingering finish. Not particularly complex. Some herbal notes, maybe green hay or leaves?

Another surprisingly good offering for the price. At under $20 US you will absolutely not go wrong with this or the Speyside. Real regional character at blend price.

    Light smoke, earth, black pepper
    Body
    Thin and light
    Palate
    Pepper, woody, not much peat
    Finish

I bought this for $16 and it was a great buy for that price. It lacks depth and the heavy characteristics you might be used to in Scotch, but it is not bad.
