Laphroaig 15 Year Old is the richer, more mature and succulent elder brother of the robust 10 Year Old. It collects awards every year like no other whisky

    Color
    Yellow amber
    Nose
peat/iodine, mild smoke, toasted nuts, leather, and the sweet aroma of the desert after a rain. At times I smell fresh grapefruit and some crazy holiday spice.
    Body
    medium full
    Palate
It lays soft and elegant on the palate allowing a sense of sweetness to creep up. A strong dryness takes place sharply leaving nuances of marzipan, smoked peat and seaweed to linger in my olfactory.
    Finish
    long

    A specimen of superb complexities.

    Color
    Amber.
    Nose
Dry and fruity - like very ripe pears dried in the sun a bit. Water releases floral highlights.
    Body
Medium-full, with a luxurious oil on the tongue.
    Palate
A peaty fine time! Fruit and salty seaweed provide excellent sweet-salty balance.
    Finish
Smooth and mellow, medium long and medium warm. A distant campfire's smoky invitation to another sip...

This is probably the best dram you could enjoy with a grilled steak. Less smoky than the 10 year, but the mellow of time provides better fruity assets to complement the smoky peat. A great scotch!

    Nose
    peat, smoke
    Body
    full bodied, thick
    Palate
    Peat, Salty, Smokey, Iodine
    Finish
Warm and spicy very different from any scotch I've had.

Very different from the usual scotch. Definitely worth giving it a shot. It seems to me that it as a "love it or hate it" kinda of taste. Give it a shot!
