    Lagavulin 1990 Distiller's Edition
    Review by ColoradoDram

    8950/99
    Color
    Reddish copper amber.
    Nose
Sweet wine slightly overpowers the distant sea mist and medicine I love in the regular 16 year.
    Body
Oily with a thick grip - full bodied to say the least. This is a complete dessert on the tongue.
    Palate
Sweet slightly overshadows the salty/smokey/mediciney/barley taste, but those make their way through the crowd eventually.
    Finish
Medium hot, very long, very dry, very smooth. The time for the standards of Lagavulin to step forth.

Drink neat and be very patient between sips, as the finish is when the sweet steps aside to make way for the Lagavulin that stands in a class of its own for those that love mediciney smokey peat. This is still a great expression, but I think I'd choose a different scotch altogether for a total dessert experience.
