New distilled spirit from Kilchoman, bottled at full strength after 1 month aging in bourbon casks. This can't be called whisky, as it's not been aged for 3 years.

- Color
- Very Pale Amber
- Nose
- Lots of peat, spicy. Reminiscent of Ardbeg.
- Body
- Medium with a buttery consistency.
- Palate
- Light with a spicy, peaty, smoky zing. Only a touch of immaturity.
- Finish
- Strong, long, classic Islay peat finish.
I tried the 2011 Spring Release which was a mixture of their 3 yr and 4yr malts. This is a truly amazing Islay Malt for the age. I did not know whisky could taste this good only 3.5 yrs in the barrel. For peat lovers, this will be one of the best once it reaches full maturity, but certainly worth a taste already.
