Jimmy Bedford, Jack Daniel's sixth Master Distiller, has been making whiskey a long time. An official taste-tester and the man who decides which barrels should become Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, he has a gift for detecting the subtle differences a barrel brings to his or her whiskey. Each bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel is hand-labelled with its barrel number, giving whiskey connoisseurs the opportunity to compare the tastes from different barrels. So, when you try Jack Daniel's Single Barrel for the first time, note the barrel number. Try to detect the different nuances - a strong caramel or vanilla presence, perhaps; or maybe the toasted oak flavour or fruit drawn from the barrel wood captures your tastebuds.

Didn't think I would like it, but was pleasantly suprised, add a little water and it will really open up this whiskey. I will definately buy more of this stuff. It's great.

- Color
- Deep copper-red.
- Nose
- Alcohol, oak, charcoal.
- Body
- Very full bodied.
- Palate
- Maple, caramel, vanilla, charcoal.
- Finish
- I poured this over a few ice cubes and let it mellow and open up. Absolutely amazing taste, you can taste the maple, vanilla, and caramel very well. Very smooth also.
This is my favorite whiskey to date, I wish the price was a little cheaper, if it was I would always have a bottle in stock.

- Color
- Rich amber
- Nose
- oak/maple smokey and spicy. On the sweeter side.
- Body
- Full body with a pleasant little bite.
- Palate
- Fruity spice, hint of smoke
- Finish
- sweeter spicy and warm. Long finish that is very relaxing.
A gift from my wife. One that will be with me a long time. A wonderful drink to relax and feel good about. Not a mixer, a slow sipper.

- Color
- Amber.
- Nose
- Charred oak, sage, honey, wet leather, rye, a wee bit of attack.
- Body
- Medium weight and oily. Soft at the outset, but starts to grind and pry as you swish it around.
- Palate
- Sweet dark sugar to start, then subtle grains of what appear to be rye and corn.
- Finish
- The sugary sweet gives way to a dry rye that muscles in and wipes away any notion that this is anything but a bourbon - never mind the purist definitions! Very long lasting and warm.
This one oscillates me between JB Black Label with it's excellent rye delivery and Buffalo Trace with its marvelous balance. And so it is that my score teeters between the two. This is a very good whiskey, if even a bit sharp on the nose (and a forgiveable sin at that, given the higher ABV of 47% my barrel #9-1991 bottled on 6-16-2009 provided). Don't dare mix this with anything but a bit of water to open things up.

- Color
- Roasted Walnut and dark maple
- Nose
- heavy alcohol, vanilla and maple, Oak and sweet woods
- Body
- Full and thick. Stands up well to ice and leaves long legs on the glass
- Palate
- sweet alcohol with a smokey sweet oak taste. Vanilla and nutty oak linger
- Finish
- Very long finish of alcohol, sugar, maple oak and vanilla
A great whiskey full in flavor/ I dont know why JD gets all the negative comment I am not from the states and am more a single malt Macallan or glenlivet man. This is a special whiskey that should be charished

- Color
- Deep Amber
- Nose
- Citrus, Warm sugar, Maple syrup, a bit smokey as well
- Body
- Thin.
- Palate
- Maple syrup right off the bat, A little hint of citrus, very sweet and salty and the end, had hoped for a bit more smokiness, but it is Jack, so there you are. Not as much alcohol taste as I expected considering that it is 92 proof.
- Finish
- Very long, slightly salty, hot, but that is my favorite part.
Good, but overpriced, I'd rather have twice as much Maker's Mark for the same price.
