This rare, sippin' whiskey is made at the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, using pure cave spring water and a unique mellowing process perfected by Jack Daniel in 1866. The distinctively pleasing flavour is the reason they'll always stay faithful to the slow, time-honoured methods their founder insisted upon. Tennessee whiskey is similar to bourbon but is different in that it is filtered through maple charcoal in large wooden vats prior to aging. Tennessee whiskey is also not subject to the regulations relating to bourbons, such as the use of new barrels and low level of distilling proof.

- Color
- Light copper.
- Nose
- Peat, orange peel, some anise and similar spices.
- Body
- Thinner legs, medium bodied and very smooth.
- Palate
- Oak wood dominating with some caramel and more subtle spices. Some earth as well. Also a good harsh alcohol bite, hidden by smoothness of the body.
- Finish
- Medium long finish, specially wood is felt then. Moderately warming.
Very good bourbon, although quite harsh at moments it's easily drinkable and definitely enjoyable. Also it's quite cheap.

- Color
- Light Amber
- Nose
- Sickly Sweet
- Body
- Thin, like stale water
- Palate
- The only thing I got from this was cough medicine.
- Finish
- Mercifully short finish overall, a bit like a speed bump the cough medicine flavor is quickly replaced by grain alcohol.
Easily one of the worst whiskey's I've tried, it's an abject failure. Even another $8-10 for a bottle will get you something far more drinkable. If you have a teenager, keep a bottle around simply for name recognition. When they raid your liquor cabinet, JD's marketing will help protect the good stuff.

- Color
- A dark Amber color
- Nose
- Strong sour charred oak.
- Body
- Thin like stale water. I agree with another reviewer here.
- Palate
- Strong Sour charred oak. A really sour whiskey.
- Finish
- The finish is no different from the palate.
I will give it some points for consistency. It's resistant to oxidization. Too bad it's a horrible whiskey. Hard to believe that so many people actually likes this. Marketing sure does wonders.

- Body
- Excessively heavy and thick.
- Palate
- It's harsh, sour and burns the mouth.
- Finish
- Just bad.
There is really nothing appealing about this whiskey. It's popularity is puzzling.

- Combines sweet corn and deep toffee, with a firm balance
- Finish
- Warm and mellow, with the famous Jack oak prominent
the classic mellow sipper is still a solid dram.

- Color
- Dark amber - don't let it fool you. It doesn't mean it's better.... Sorry to say.... All caramel and no character indeed...
- Nose
- Charcoal, petrol, young whisky.
- Body
- slight legs, not as thick as I expected, somewhat of a let down on the body.
- Palate
- No peat, young whisky, plenty of charcoal. In fact, the charcoal hides all the flavors.
- Finish
- Finish is bitter and immature. At 40% ABV, that's unfortunate.
