First released as a UK exclusive in 2003, Highland Park 15 Year Old is a fabulously smooth, easy to drink single malt with a luxuriously light floral flavour and a gentle smokey finish.
Highland Park 15 Years Old
Review by ColoradoDram
- Color
- Golden amber.
- Nose
- The familiar HP new leather boots, honey, toffee, with gentle smoke.
- Body
- Medium body and oil on the tongue, though I was expecting more body since it had such thick legs on the glass.
- Palate
- Delicious sweet carmelized honey that has been slow smoked. A little dry grass.
- Finish
- So smooth it almost gets lost. It loses the fresh charm of the 12 and doesn't quite capture the depth of the 18.
This is very 'safe' excellence with balanced flavor and maturity, but it's pricey for the results, and definitely doesn't introduce anything new from HP. For my $, I'm going to stick with the 12 for normal course and spring for the 18 for special events (which is only $10 US more when on sale).

- Color
- Straw
- Nose
- Honey; a touch of saltwater; mild peat
- Body
- Medium
- Palate
- More honey and peat (not that I'm complaining, mind you!)
- Finish
- Gives a nice warmth to the throat and nostrils. Stays on the tongue just long enough.
Very well balanced. My preferred daily drinker.
