Initially matured in American Oak casks then finished in barriques from the Sauternes region of Bordeaux. This sumptuous whisky is bottled at traditional strength and non chill-filtered with a rich, mellow and sweet flavour.

- Color
- Medium amber.
- Nose
- Sweet and warm vanilla, ripe citrus peel, honeysuckle bubble bath, mashed yellow grapes, buttery bourbon. Truly astounding and varying depending on the depth of your nose in the glass.
- Body
- Medium bodied, thin on the tongue, though oily.
- Palate
- Confirms the nose with predominantly sweet vanilla malt. Hot and numbing on the tongue if not reduced.
- Finish
- Medium heat. Nice and smooth for its age. Peppery kick persists, giving it a nice long finish, more so with a couple drops of water. A nice dry grape (Pinot Gris?) afterbreath.
Quite a deviation from the other three Glenmorangies I've tried, this is much more of a dry white wine finish versus the more typical citrus Highland expressions. This is one of the few scotches that works really well as an aperitif or a dessert. Excellent, and worthy of the heftier price.

- Color
- Initially amber, then when mixed with ice and when the water mixes with the non-chill filtered concoction, it just becomes a light honey colour
- Nose
- It smells like maple syrup, very sweet aroma
- Body
- It is heavy, with a syrupy texture, well balanced whisky which doesn't bite.
- Palate
- A very slight hint of peat, with a large gush of honey explosion inter-twined with subtle hints of smoke.....and then a release of sweet cedar aromas in your mouth
- Finish
- Fantastic lasting finish, that leaves a smoky peaty finish at the back of the tongue. The sweetness lingers on the edges of the back edges of your tongue.
It has the aromas of the balvenie, the colour of the macallan, the subtlety of the bunnahabhain, the finish of the auchentoshan, the taste of the aberlour.....taking only the best bits, a well balanced whisky, a winner. One for companionship, and to share with your best mates.

Fruity, Oak, Sweet and Floral. This is a perfectly balanced whisky in my opinion. Great to sniff and smooth and oily to drink.
