It has been called ‘the perfect ten’ and most Glenmorangie drinkers will readily drink to that! After 10 years in ex-Bourbon casks, the Glenmorangie spirit has had enough time to mature and mellow into a beautifully balanced yet marvellously complex malt whisky. Enjoyed by newcomers and connoisseurs alike, it’s Scotland’s favourite malt whisky, hand-crafted with pride by the Sixteen Men of Tain.

- Color
- Pale straw
- Nose
- Light ethanol, not a big nose by any means.
- Body
- Light and low viscosity. Not syrupy at all. Warm and light.
- Palate
- Smooth and light with oak hints and very slight hints of honey and clover.
- Finish
- Slight alcohol burn, fast finish with little to remark on.
This seems to be a whisky that is light in both flavor and color. It is a gentle and subdued dram from the nose to the finish. Not much smoke, oak, or sweetness to taste. A great whisky for a warm spring day.

Review by Williamson
- Color
- Light, shiny gold
- Nose
- A bit of oak, with a hint of ripe fruit and dry grass, fruity. Not too promising, not too overwhelming either. Water added more oak and some sultana.
- Body
- Not the least bit oily or syrupy.
- Palate
- Citrus fruit, some honey and a bit of oak, fades in subtle sweetness. Less fruity than the aromas suggest.
- Finish
- Sweet fruits, sultana. Warm and short, tingles somewhat pleasantly for half a minute. Detected some dry straw in the second finish, maybe a bit of lemon.
A good reminder of why we choose to drink single malt.

- Color
- Very light honey/gold.
- Nose
- Navel orange, phenolic.
- Body
- Medium.
- Palate
- Neat = sharp, attacking orange. Paired with H2O = silkier, spicier (like ginger/cloves), grassy.
- Finish
- Neat is acidy and rough. With water and aeration this becomes an excellent, medium-length citrusy peppery grassy finish.
First, mix with water - even the Glenmorangie 18 benefits from a couple drops. Next, pair with some spice cake, ginger snaps, carrot cake, orange chocolate or the like, and patiently enjoy this after dinner. It's good Highlands and uniquely Glenmorangie.

- Color
- Light amber
- Nose
- wheat, moss, slight acidity and small smokey notes
- Body
- Light, refreshing and homey. Not too overbearing but enough weight
- Palate
- Old books, nectarines and light peat
- Finish
- Soft finish with nasal overtones. No heavy lingering.
This is a nice whiskey. Its mild but has enough base to tempt the palate. A great entry dram and with enough history and presence to be appreciated by all.

- Color
- Pale straw.
- Nose
- Flowers, vanilla, fruity (pear? melon? papaya?) banana.
- Body
- Medium.
- Palate
- Bourbon, vanilla, flowers, some smoke, sweet fruit, grape-fruit, soapy.
- Finish
- Medium-long. floral, banana, vanilla, fading with a whiff of smoke.
Light whisky, which is well-balanced and complex, but a bit dull. Reminds me of Jim Beam, because of the vanilla and floral notes, but it's subtler. Not my favourite, but a nice malt nonetheless.

- Finish is medium, starting sweet and ending with a gentle, smokey caress
I was looking forward to my first sample of Glenmorangie and really wanted to like it. I feel that I may have built it up too much. Overall a clean and concise offering. I don't believe that the ten year, or 'the original', will take up bar space in the future. I have found better at lower cost. Cheers!

- Color
- Shiny treasure chest gold on the eyes
- Nose
- Notes of vanilla and ripe tree fruit on the nose
- Body
- Feathery and fair
- Palate
- The slightest honey sweetness on initial palate; a brief rush of cask oak and sharp grain balances with Bosc pear and toasted almond like yin and yang, it’s so damn precise
- Finish
- Intense yet immensely inviting finish of warm cask and vanilla-almond is like sputtering oak logs toasting in a cozy brick fireplace
As much a dichotomy as it is harmony, this singular malt triumphs in it’s unique marriage of multitudes of diverse flavors cascading into an essence so unified it’s at times unparalleled. The complexity achieved at such relative youth is a testament to the distiller’s genius. Resplendent and airy - yet secretive and intricate, this is a beautiful dram that reflects differently each time out. An anomaly among its Highland peers, this malt stands superlative; the femme fatale of Highland Scotch whisky

- Color
- Light gold
- Nose
- Fruit (citrus, pear), vanilla, and sweet spice, getting to honey or caramel.
- Body
- Light.
- Palate
- Did not confirm the nose. It went on an acidic note, almost getting to bitter places. Short finish. After 20 minutes the whiskey evolved very nicely and I was able to pick strong oak and vanilla.
- Finish
- Short finish. Not a highlight of this whiskey.
Good whiskey to round your collection, although not one of my favorites. Would buy again.

- Color
- Light amber, almost golden
- Nose
- Well-rounded fruitiness, a hint of citrus
- Body
- Relatively light and smooth
- Palate
- Keep it on the front of your tounge and you will be rewarded with a blend of citrus fruits. Let it drift to the back and you'll be hit with a bit of alcohol burn. The taste is relatively constant throughout a sip, meandering through generic citrusy, almost sugary at times flavors.
- Finish
- Like any Whisky, the more of it you drink, the easier the finish gets. This one definitely fits the bill. With each sip the finish becomes less of an ordeal and more of a rewarding experience.
I'm still a novice when it comes to Scotch Whisky, but this is a great one for somebody new to Scotch. Compared to other malts and blends I've tried, it is smoother than most, but still has a bit of harshness if you let it hit the wrong spot on your tounge. It is also certainly one of the sweetest Scotches I have tasted, again making it appealing to a newcomer like me.

- Color
- golden straw, like a white wine with some age on it
- Nose
- Intense pear aroma, both fresh and caramelized. Some cinnamon, old barrel, and just enough peat to know its there.
- Body
- Fuller bodied, good viscosity, but a bit hot.
- Palate
- Pear, pie crust, and sugar gives way to an earthy and peppery finish. Yum.
- Finish
- Strong finish. The flavors last a long time.
The whisky has a wonderful aroma and flavor profile. It is a bit spirity and rough around the edges, but delicious.

- Nose

- Body
- Not too full.

"Basic" Glenmorangie. Good, tasty, but not very interesting (although better than most of "mild" whiskys).

- Color
- Light and pale
- Nose
- Small smoke, medium vanilla and fruits, big bourbon...
- Body
- Bold at first but weakens pretty quickly like a weak-ass slap to the face
- Palate
- At first you think it will be complex, then the secondary levels never show up. Great taste but short lived. A caught a glimpse of leather, oak and vanilla.
- Finish
- A big ole teaser. Big at first and then down hill from there.
A decent scotch for its age. Just barely worth the money. You better add water if you want to experience it all the levels. Being a bourbon lover, I picked up lots of the major notes of fine bourbons. The sad news is that all of it was so very short lived. Enjoy it, but don't blink.
