Subtly sophisticated Lowland is a superb pre-dinner drink; try it taken straight from the freezer.

    Color
    Pale gold.
    Nose
Fermenting grass clippings in the sun, light honeysuckle flowers.
    Body
Thin, light, consistent from front to back of the tongue. Gets more oily with water.
    Palate
Wheaty barley like a reduced wheat beer, residual copper metal, slight licorice.
    Finish
Pretty warm but short and rather unremarkable. Little complexity of taste revealed.

Agreed this should always be served as an aperitif. It's best with some sort of salty/spicy cheese (pepper jack) on a whole wheat cracker. It's worth tasting this Lowland, though a bit simple for a lover of complex scents/flavors.

    Color
    Pale Amber
    Nose
    Light smoke, wheat.
    Body
    Full, not thick though.
    Palate
Malt syrup, roasted nuts. Subtle flavors revealed when rolling the whisky in your mouth.
    Finish
    Warm but not searing.

This is a wonderful whisky. I know that some drink this as an apertif and that is a good choice. It can finish dinner too, if nothing too aggressive was consumed first. A better idea is to drink it with dinner.

    Color
    Straw
    Nose
The nose is light and sweet with strong notes of malted barley and hay with a touch of fresh cut grass.
    Body
The body is light with a fresh crispness.
    Palate
The palate is first sweet fruits then gets more cereal with a touch of oak.
    Finish
The finish is medium in length with a dry maltiness and some light spice.

A good dram for those spring days or early summer nights
