Glengoyne's distinctive style carries on improving with age. The same elements are present at 17 years old as they were at 10, only now the balance has artfully changed. A more concentrated, equally well-balanced palate of flavours has emerged, though it still retains the same clean, delicate taste as the 10 Years Old.

- Color
- Golden orange amber.
- Nose
- A nice sweet fruity citrus peel.
- Body
- Medium-full bodied.
- Palate
- Slightly bitter orange/tangerine peel, dark chocolate.
- Finish
- A very long ride to the end - a dram of this can last an hour. Peppery minty hot spice adds to the citrus. Slight attack for a 17, but not unpleasant.
This is an advanced Highlands dessert whisky - enjoy with dark and/or bitter chocolate or mint. Don't add water as it only introduces a bad acid attack. Surprisingly different each time, but always with good character.

- Color
- Orange gold honey
- Nose
- Dark chocolate covered raisins. Oak, grape and apricots. Minty and grassy notes underneath.
- Body
- Thick and viscous. Stable in the mouth, doesn't suddenly jump out at you like other whiskies.
- Palate
- Sweet on the tongue. Chocolate and grappa. Juicy California raisins. Winey and rich.
- Finish
- Medium, salty sweet finish. Coffee and plain white toast. Chocolate bonbons.
Love this. Definitely a dessert whisky, holds its own against any number of brandies or sherries. I could drink this instead of having any sweets, and as long as this bottle lasts, I probably will.

- Color
- Dark honey
- Nose
- Bittersweet and deeply enticing. Chocolate, hard black raisins. Hay and grass and fresh air. Some wine oakiness and a good fruity sweetness.
- Body
- Full and rich
- Palate
- This is like diving into a cask for explanation of what oak aging does!!! I get oak first that then explodes in two directions: (1)the flavours of raisins and chocolate, malt and yeast, wine and rum cake, and (2) vanilla yogurt creaminess and almost citric sweetness. It somehow remains light while having a great rich depth of flavour.
- Finish
- Soft sherry characteristics carry on for minutes. Long finish.
This dram rocks my world. If you think unpeated whisky is boring, give this a try.
