Glenfiddich resurrects the lost tradition of maturing in rum casks with this Glenfiddich Gran Reserva 21 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky. Rum distillers from Sancti Spiritus, near the Sierra del Escambray in the heart of Cuba, worked with us to develop this unique Cuban rum finish. We decant casks of Cuban rum at our distillery in Scotland and fill them with 21 Year Old Glenfiddich to absorb the unique character lingering in the wood. Then we wait for our Malt Master to give his blessing for bottling - at the precise moment when the unmistakable Glenfiddich flavour reveals a new and vibrant overtone.

- Color
- Amber indicative of it's age
- Nose
- Floral sweet smells with a hints of sweets like toffee
- Body
- Has a solid body, sticks to the tongue and mouth
- Palate
- Fruit, leather, a hint of smoke and earth towards the end
- Finish
- Has a warm long finish and changes a few times after consuming. Sticks to the mouth and changes flavor as you lick your checks.
This is my favorite whiskey. The 21 has very pleasant smell and smooth initial taste. It rounds off with a touch of smoke, earth and leather a little while after swallowing. Were the flavors to die off shortly after leaving the mouth, this would have earned a score in the 80's for me, but the change and definite tingle push it into the top spot. A real treat!
