A deep peaty-gold, spirity yet amazingly smooth and dry. Finish rich and long lasting.

- Color
- Deep amber/copper
- Nose
- Butterscotch, surprisingly vanilla from Euro oak - slightly prickly
- Body
- Full, big, very hot on front of the tongue, yet not to the sinuses or throat
- Palate
- Raisin cake, pleasant cereal maltyness dominates but doesnt overpower
- Finish
- very long hot with pleasant grainy cereal
Outstanding, but certainly not a beginners whisky- take heed of the ABV content- hotness reduced quite a bit with water. Worthy of Glenfarclas' high reputation.

- Color
- Burnt copper, as dark as it gets.
- Nose
- Fermented grapes, nutmeg, cardamom, orange peel. The best nose of the three Speyside sherry cask strengths I've tried - this one's not just in-your-face sherry at nosing.
- Body
- Full bodied, oily.
- Palate
- Sherry at the front, sherry in the middle, a very dry cereal malt at the tail end.
- Finish
- Very hot, very long, and very deep (all the way down). An excellent balanced finish when diluted to 44-48% ABV.
Nose this one neat to appreciate the complexity before cutting with water. Then dilute at tasting to reveal the nice layers of sherry followed by the gently-bitter cereal that Glenfarclas imparts to remind us this stuff is made from barley.
