A straw-gold , delicately light, sweet and malty, leaving a long slightly spicy finish.
Glenfarclas 10 Years Old
Review by Red Hare
- Color
- Amber, tinge of pink
- Nose
- Sherry, clotted cream and fresh milk. Oranges and dried apricots. Oak underneath.
- Body
- Watery and liquid. Not thin though.
- Palate
- Sweet. Big hit of spice - cinnamon and nutmeg. Strawberry jam, vanilla cream. Oaky tannins.
- Finish
- Medium to long. Intensity fades quickly, but lingers, if that makes sense. Spice cake and orange peel.
Reminds me of a Devon or Cornish cream tea!
Glenfarclas 10 Years Old
Review by Eye-lah Guy
- Color
- Medium amber in the glass
- Nose
- Complexity kicks in right from the nose, which alternates between warm winter oak on the fire, buttery sweet toffee, and light peat.
- Body
- Medium
- Palate
- Toasted oak emerges along with razor-sharp grains which balance out so exquisitely, don't blink or it's "one."
- Finish
- A warm bolt of all flavors.
All that's good about the Speyside whisky region is represented duly here. This 10 yr bottling may be even more complex than the 12, and for the price, it's a definite.
