- Color
- Gold, like a flat pilsener beer
- Nose
- Sweet fruit, grassy soil, more so with a few drops of water (also aerate this one a fair bit to reduce the phenolic attack on the nose).
- Body
- Light bodied, thin feel on the tongue even though the legs on the glass were pretty viscous. Again, a few drops of water improves the buttery feel on the tongue.
- Palate
- Confirms the nose, fruity malt, a grassy salad with fresh ground white pepper at the tail end.
- Finish
- Medium warm but quite long. A little more attack than other 15's I've tried.
This is a nice representation of the Highlands - fruity malt and grassy, with a light pepper finish. I suggest water drops and patience aerating this one for best results. On final tastings of this malt, I dropped it a couple points due to some unwarranted/undesired phenolic attack.
