Our characteristic bottle is emerald green with the helmsman emblazoned within a golden porthole on the front. It comes complete with a booklet and a black gift tube that the bottle fits snugly into. The nose offers a fresh and aromatic experience with a subtle whiff of smoke floating through the air. The taste starts with a light fruit and nut appeal that leads to a spectacular malty sweetness, finishing into a beautifully rich full-bodied, lingering experience.

- Color
- Full/old gold.
- Nose
- Sweet moss, marzipan paste, licorice/anise.
- Body
- Light-medium body, thin feel on the tongue, though a very light refined oil creaminess.
- Palate
- Confirms the nose, nutty moss with licorice.
- Finish
- Quite peppery and tingly, medium hot, and surprisingly long for a 12 year at average ABV.
Definitely a different kind of Islay - nothing superior, but worthy of the occasional change from the peaty campfire favorites. The most licorice of any scotch I've tasted - akin to Don Julio Anejo in the tequila sipping world. For that it gets uniqueness bonus points.

- Color
- Light, Amber
- Nose
- Orange, Butter and Sea Air along with the smell of a Campfire on the Beach.
- Body
- Full Bodied Syrupy.
- Palate
- Peat a Little Smoke, Buttery and a little sweet. This whisky has a slight bite to it, nothing Hot, just a slight bite.
- Finish
- Nice Finish, Just long enough, Good Whisky Feel and a little Spice , Licorice Maybe
This Whisky was good, But not a real Bell Ringer. As far as Islay Whiskys are concerned it's right in there but it's a little to Sweet and Toffee tasting for me. Lips feel sticky at the Finish.

- Color
- White wine
- Nose
- Light and breezy, sea air, yoghurt and orange syrup. Baking flour and vanilla. Balsamic vinegar. Fruity and salty/sour.
- Body
- Nutty/oily. Chewy
- Palate
- Smooth and very pleasant. Feels great in the mouth. Sweet creaminess. Sour cream on a bagel. Turns bitter, like orange juice after brushing teeth, and slightly peaty showing off its Islay ruggedness.
- Finish
- Oaky, creamy, and slighly salty finish. Doesn't linger.
A 10pm go-to dram for many people. Often found on optic in Scotland pubs as malt-of-the-month.
