Bruichladdich 10 years old is the youngest bottling in the current core range. Jim McEwan, our Master Distiller, has personally selected oak casks from the Bruichladdich warehouses and carefully vatted them together to create an individual style of cuvee, which is full, rich and complex, with warmth and balance. Like all other bottlings, this First Edition Bruichladdich 10 Year Old is caramel free. After maturation in our shore-side warehouses, it has been bottled at 46% without chill-filtration in the Distillery, using Islay spring water.

    Color
    Very pale
    Nose
    Alcohol. Water brings some fruit.
    Body
Very dry. Less so with water.
    Palate
Very floural with light peat. Water brings out an amazing sour apple flavour. Truly remarkable.
    Finish
    Minty cool and efervesant.

This is another terrific surprise from Bruichladdich. They really take Islay malts to a new place. The bitter apple in this whisky is truly remarkable, and utterly delightful.

    Color
    Pale and light.
    Nose
Mild tones of fruit and subtle peaty undertones. Water makes the peat go away and the fruit come alive.
    Body
Weak at first. Medium bodied at best.
    Palate
Lightly pleated with long lived fruity sweetness. Add a little water and the sour apple will bring a smile to your face.
    Finish
Short finish. Only downfall of this mostly fine scotch.

An amazingly young and fruity scotch that everyone should try once. Not your usual Islay but well made with very distinguishable sour apple & pear flavor base.
