Ballantine's 12 Year Old in a rich, smooth and complex whisky, blended from specially selected single malt and grain whiskies.

- Color
- exquisite shiny gold.
- Nose
- sweet, oaky, smell of sea breeze.
- Body
- what a smooth operator!
- Palate
- oaky sweet, honey, ever-so-softly briney hint, complex yet so perfectly balanced.
- Finish
- long, smooth, and slightly velvety finish, with a gentle warmth - like being caressed in lover's bossom!
Quite simply the best and value-for-money 12yo blended scotch whisky you'll ever get in a duty-free shop. Beats the rest in the class hands down. Rules like Man Utd! I will not buy any other 12yo blended whiskies for life!

- Color
- Caramel
- Nose
- Solid wooden block smell with peatiness.
- Body
- Smooth at first, then thickens.
- Palate
- Orange, peat, wood.
- Finish
- The pleasurable first taste is spoilt a bit by aftertaste which is strong and not mellow.
Probably the pick of the common blended regulars on shelves (Johnny Walker, Chivas etc). Good value for money, but not immensely pleasurable straight. Best with a bit of water or on the rocks.

- Color
- Light gold
- Nose
- Hot and thin.
- Body
- Velvety and full.
- Palate
- Sugarish, some iodine. A complex blend for the price range. Satisfying.
- Finish
- Somewhat hot. Candyish. Coats the mouth well and sweetly.
Wonderfully low-priced surprise. Old school reputation encouraged me to buy, and it was worth it.

- Color
- Medium amber.
- Nose
- Light friendly sweet maple like smell.
- Body
- Very light. Harmless. Smooth.
- Palate
- Not too much going on here. No layers of flavor coming out. Just a light sweet maple taste. Very simple.
- Finish
- Short finish. It does not transform to anything else from start to end.
It's really an unexceptional dram. If at a bar and I order for scotch without being specific this the taste of scotch I would be served. I don't like but I don't hate. Someone who is new to whisky should start with this.
