Auchentoshan, meaning `Corner of the fieldâ in Gaelic, produces a delicate, smooth and light single Malt Whisky. The subtle aroma and flavour of its Spirit is achieved by the unique Triple Distillation process, whereby the spirit is not distilled twice, as elsewhere in Scotland, but instead, distilled three times producing even greater refinement to its character.

- Color
- Pale gold.
- Nose
- Slightly sweet and floral.
- Body
- Slightly oily, but still light.
- Palate
- Buttery - almost tastes like buttered toast. Touches of caramel. Hints of grass.
- Finish
- Peppery and hot. Doesn't last long.
Smooth and drinkable, but lacking in complexity. Not as much flavor as a lot of Scotches, but definitely a great value for the price. This is a great place for novices to start, as it is very easy to drink.

- Color
- Pale gold.
- Nose
- Fresh metal shavings, heather, over-ripe bananas, nail polish remover.
- Body
- The legs indicated thin viscosity, but a surprisingly creamy mouthfeel emerges from a light body.
- Palate
- Definitely a metallic taste (maybe the triple distillation?), but a fine-enough flowery and fruity malt adjoins. Surprised not to taste much grass typical of lowlands.
- Finish
- Peppery, dry, medium hot but very shallow. Pretty smooth for what I'm guessing is ~8 years old.
Worth a taste, and a good value scotch, but a little 'too' distilled flavor for my palate. Maybe the more mature Three Wood would balance better.
